Instructions for Foot Baths
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE BEGINNING.
Advance preparation will ensure that your footbath goes smoothly and that you will be relaxed. Set aside a block of time so that you will enjoy the experience and not be rushed. Try to avoid aluminum or tin implements.
Clay Detox Bath Formula of your Choice
A timer or clock; rubber or vinyl gloves
A dust mask; a whisk for mixing
A sturdy plastic bucket; towels
A drain guard; a packet of clay dissolving agents (CDA’s) if desired.
Clay footbaths may be used instead of tub baths when there is a heart condition, high blood pressure, taking prescription medicine and pregnancy. Always consult with your doctor if you are on medication, have a chronic condition or have a special health concern. Also, if you are elderly, or extremely toxic, weak or ill, you may wish to use less clay or keep your feet in the bath for a shorter amount of time. ALWAYS check with your doctor in any questionable situation. These special clay baths remove toxins along with some minerals/vitamins and electrolytes. If you are in a depleted condition, please replenish before and after taking a clay footbath. This clay is not for internal use. Ginger Tea (purchased separately) should not be taken with blood thinner medicine. Also, the clay may be slippery—please take precautions.
Some normal symptoms from toxic elimination are nausea, light-headedness, a pulling sensation from parts of the body and fatigue. If these occur during the footbath, stop and remove your feet. Use less clay and take less time for your next bath.
The occurrence of the above symptoms means that the toxins are moving too fast. Just go slower. Activated charcoal is recommended for neutralizing toxins. Also, Rescue Remedy, a natural flower essence useful in any type of emergency, can be found in most health stores.
Ginger and peppermint teas may be purchased separately and are known to improve strength and energy and help digestion. You might take some in hot water following the bath.
GUIDELINES FOR FOOTBATHS
Check your pH to see where your acid/alkaline is. Take Cellfood or something comparable before and after the bath. Buffer pH capsules can assist in getting your pH to the proper levels.
The suggested amount of Magnetic Clay is 1/2 to 2 cups in the footbath for 10 to 40 minutes.
For chronic and acute illnesses, always check with your doctor and use smaller amounts (i.e. ½ cup for 10 minutes) and then gradually work up to 1 cup for approximately 20 minutes.
Healthier people might start with 1 cup for 15 or 20 minutes, and gradually work up to 2 cups for 40 minutes.
Never have the water temperature over 104°F.
FOOT BATH PROCEDURES
Fill the bucket ½ full of 100° to 102°F water.
Add the selected clay formula slowly, as if you were making gravy, and mix with a whisk until the lumps are gone. Better still, use an old blender, filling the blender ¾ full of warm water, add ¼ cup of clay and blend for 10 to 15 seconds. Poor into bath container and repeat until amount desired is reached. Average is 1 cup per baths up to 40 minuets. Wear a mask to avoid breathing in the clay dust.
Put your feet in the water and set your timer for the appropriate time, or check your clock.
When the time is up, remove your feet and clean them with warm water.
Moisturize your skin and dress warmly until the pores close. Drink plenty of pure water, *coconut water, organic juices and/or teas to help boost your energy, flush residual toxins from your system and help your digestion. Replenish your minerals if needed.
*Coconut water as well as baking soda (1/2 teaspoon in a glass of water) will help to alkalize the body, since it becomes acidic during detoxification.
If you are pouring the clay mixture down a drain, use a drain guard or hair trap. You may pour the mixture down the toilet.
Just to be cautious, do not touch the "toxic clay mixture" with your bare hands. The use of vinyl or plastic gloves is suggested. (In some rare instances, it may cause re-absorption of chemicals, viruses, bacteria and fungus).
